About Sparrows ELC
We are a licensed childcare centre in Claudelands, Hamilton, caring for up to 30 tamariki aged 3 months to 5 years.
Situated next to the grounds of Southwell School, our centre offers a safe and private environment, set against a stunning backdrop of native bush. This beautiful setting supports our focus on indoor/outdoor flow, allowing children to move freely between learning and play in both environments. Our unique playground features natural, established areas that celebrate the beauty of Aotearoa New Zealand.
As a mixed-aged centre, we provide a family-like environment where children can learn and grow together, drawing on one of our core values of tuakana–teina, where older children support and guide younger ones. This approach helps them develop life skills that aren’t always available in larger, age-segregated centres.
We enrich children’s experiences through whole-centre trips, as well as in-centre activities like hairdresser visits and dance classes, offering a wide range of learning and play opportunities both indoors and out. Our goal is to create a true ‘home away from home’ where every child feels safe, secure, and valued.
